Whether you’re storing for a move, decluttering your home, or safeguarding seasonal items, using your storage unit efficiently can make a big difference. Follow these practical storage tips to keep your items safe, accessible, and in top condition.

1. Choose the Right Unit Size

Before renting, take inventory of what you plan to store. Larger furniture, vehicles, or business inventory may require a bigger unit. Our team is happy to help you choose the best size for your needs.

2. Use Quality Packing Supplies

Invest in sturdy boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, and furniture covers. Avoid using old or worn-out boxes—they can collapse over time.

3. Label Everything Clearly

Label each box on multiple sides with its contents. Consider color-coding by room or item type to make retrieval easier.

4. Disassemble Large Furniture

Take apart beds, tables, and other large items to save space. Store hardware (screws, bolts) in labeled bags and tape them securely to the item.

5. Pack Smart

Place heavier items at the bottom of boxes.

Don’t overfill boxes to the point of bulging.

Fill empty spaces with towels or packing paper to prevent shifting.

6. Create a Walkway

Leave a small aisle through the middle of your unit so you can easily reach items at the back.

7. Protect Fragile Items
